The Cowboy Artist
No. 40 - ©1943 by L. H. Larsen, Card #20591
THE COWBOY ARTIST

Painting the west
So the world may see,
The free joyful life
That is so dear to me.

My heart does throb
And my pulse run high,
When I think of the land
Way up in the sky.

And wonder if God
Has a place set aside,
With cattle and ponies
That the cowboys may ride.

Desert Lure

DESERT LURE

Enchanting is the Desert Lure
Of our Great Southwestern Range
Where pease and rest awaits you
Where the seasons never change.

Precious Gold
No. 1 - ©1939 by L. H. Larsen, Card #11406
PRECIOUS GOLD

What is more precious than the yellow gold
That we try so hard to find?
I often wonder if the richest gold
Is that which I left behind
We search for gold from pole to pole
And in every land on earth,
Never thinking that the most precious gold
Is beside a fire hearth
Just to have a home, and kiddies too,
And a wife with a heart so true,
To rest and comfort your weary soul
When your days work is thru.
Gathering Wild Cattle
No. 4 - ©1939 by L. H. Larsen, Card #10709
GATHERING WILD CATTLE

You have read a lot of stories
About every kind of sport,
From hunting lions in Africa
To the champ of the tennis court.
But there is one a missing
And I am sure it tops them all,
It is gathering wild cattle
For the round up in the fall.
Range Feud
No. 16 - ©1940 by L. H. Larsen, Card #12969

RANGE FEUD

When cowboys move a sheep
camp by night
They feel they are doing the
thing that is right
Because the range is theirs
they say
And it's come on sheep herder
get on your way.

A Drink of Water
No. 5 - ©1939 by L. H. Larsen, #10705
A DRINK OF WATER

Now to have a drink of water.
Cool and pure, fresh and clear,
Just a good old drink of water,
Now don't you wish that you were here?
It comes right from the mountains,
A gurgling all the way.
There is a song in every murmur,
Throught the night and all the day.
And to watch the speckled trout
As they dart with ease and grace,
Through the clear and sparkling water,
Never staying in one place,
Now I have drank at cocktail parties,
Whiskey, wine, and all the rest,
But when I'm tired, hot and sweaty,
I like my mountain water best.
